IX.3.9 Pompeii. Shop or workshop of Titus. Carpenters workshop?

Excavated 1849 and 1851?  (Strada Stabiana 39).

IX.3.9 Pompeii, on right. April 2019. Entrance doorway on east side of Via Stabiana.

According to Eschebach, IX.3.6-9 were used as a show excavation in the presence of Pope Pius IX, on 22nd October 1849.

On the pilaster that separates these two shops, on the left between IX.3.8 and 9, a mutilated graffiti was found

Titus ? …  rog(at)   [CIL IV 884]

According to Della Corte, also found on this pilaster on the left, was the graffiti

Multum  pistores  rogant     [CIL IV 886] 

This graffiti was written in support of the candidate Giulio Polibio, (see IX.3.8).
